Best Marriage Books

What are the best marriage books ever written? These are my top picks. As a lawyer, I’ve seen many cases through the years. Our firm handles divorce and custody cases, but we also see families driven apart during probate or breaking up a family owned business. Marriage is the cornerstone of the family, and upon it stable family relationships are built. Reading the correct books, therefore, has the power to help build a sturdy marital foundation and strong families.
After reading dozens of marriage books, I’ve determined these are the best ever written. They are recommended reading for young people, engaged couples, newlyweds, and those of us who have experienced years of marriage.
These books matter for two reasons. First, they contain wonderful insight into marriage. Second, when a couple reads the same book, it unifies them. Not only do they experience the unifying power of reading together, but they also take in the same information thereby creating common knowledge moving forward.
These five books standout as the best marriage books ever written:

Fortunately, Dave Ramsey has a plan for creating predictability and fiscal responsibility in marriage and life. His tried and true methods will set any couple on the path to financial success.

Bonus

Jordan Peterson wrote a book several years back titled “Beyond Order: 12 More Rules.” In the book, he discusses how to avoid complacency, which is a destructive disposition. Chapter 10 deals with romance and marriage. From a psychological vantage, it’s remarkably insightful.
Each of these books is amazing on its own, but collectively the wisdom in these books is transformative.
